This past Sunday was the marathon. The halfway point was half a block from our place, so we loaded up the boys and headed over. There were (before these pics were taken) tons of folks lined up, cheering, holding signs, ringing cow bells (love that). The cops that were there to provide security were clapping and yelling and cheering everyone on. Seth and I stood and watched and yelled. Brice clapped and waved and even got to give a high five to one of the runners. Harry was calm and happy and sucked on the Bjorn for an hour. Everytime I watch a marathon, I always entertain the thought of running, say, a 5k. Maybe this will be the year!!

I love marathons too! I have an annual ritual of watching the Ironman (even worse, a triathalon) on TV and just literally weeping uncontrollably, wiping my snotty nose while I witness these people's strength. Love it!!
i love watching the marathon. it is one of the most inspiring things to see!
on behalf of the runners, I thank you.
did you see me in '04? I didn't see Dawn that year, but I heard her! ;-)
Mike, I didn't see you that year!! I think you should get training and come back for next year. I'll jump in and run a mile with you!!
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses ..."
What a great mental visual of Hebrews 12. Sounds like I've gotta get out and see a marathon someday!
